A few years ago the New England signed a no name wide receiver named Wes Welker. Welker a Texas Tech Graduate Born in the Oklahoma City is now the # 1 slot receiver in the NFL. He dominates the league in receptions every year with over 400 the past 4 seasons. Welker is the best player on the Patriots, in fact he is the best in the league. I don't care what any body says there all #haters. He is the definition of a beast standing 5 ft 9, 185 pounds of ridiculousness.
Ray Allen of the Boston Celtics is the best shooter of all time. #Nufsaid. The Center fielder for the Boston Red Sox Jacoby Ellsbury was a no name from Oregon when he was drafted. Now a few years later he is a MVP canidate . With skyrocketed stats this season he stole 39 bases. Had a .321 average with 105 rbi's and 32 home runs. #Hesfresh

People Watch
To start off if you have never gone “people watching” I suggest you do so. People are a phenomenon as it is, but watching certain things they do on a day to day basis can provide serious entertainment. This activity can make you laugh, cry, say “Um… ew”, or just wonder “What the F#@! are you doing……”. I am currently taking a psychology course and we are learning about the brain and why people do the things they do.
Taking all this into account my professor told me that he people watches all the time. So now I do it without even noticing. I must add it can be a very unique experience. If you don’t know how to, it’s very simple. You mind your own business, pick a spot, open your eyes, and observe. For example one day I was my father and I were driving somewhere in his car. Now I don’t know if you know anything about cars but my dad has a 1988 Monte Carlo Super Sport all fixed up and it’s a head turner. So we came to a stop sign and there was a gentleman walking on the sidewalk. He noticed the car and gave it a thumbs up as he was walking. With his attention directed to the car, he forgot to avoid the stop sign he was walking towards. He walked directly into the sign smacking his face off the red hexagon, and fell straight to the ground. But the funniest part was he got right up like nothing happened and gave two thumbs up this time. My dad and I just shook our heads and laughed.
Also something you see a lot in people watching is people farting. For example my friends and I were all in a room and one of the girls walked to the other side of the room randomly. I was the only one who noticed as she stood in the corner she sort of lifted one of her legs and make a strange face, then immediately after a sign of relief. As she proceeded back into the conversation, a smell lurked back with her, and then someone asked “Who farted?”. The girl was the first one to put fingers. I just laughed and took it all in.

Jersey shore
This show brings you into the lifestyle of a group of young Italians as they do their thing all over the world. The show now in its 4th season is filmed in Florence, Italy. Season 1 and 3 were filmed in Seaside Heights, New Jersey, and season 2 was filmed in Miami, Florida. The daily lives of these Guido’s (stereotypical tan Italians) makes for a hilarious TV show.
The cast of this show is what makes it funny its four Guido’s and four Guidettes. There is Pauly, Vinny, Ron, and Mike “The Situation”, Deena, Sam, Jwoww, and of course Snooki. In short, all the cast members have their own personalities. Vinny and Pauly are two best friends made for each other. They have a bromance that sometimes people question that they might be gay for each other. Their goal every night is to look good, go out to the club, get drunk, and get laid. Ron and Sam are a couple and they just fight all the time. Jwoww is the tough chick of the house and often gets stuck playing the mommy role to her drunken roommates. Mike has a huge ego and thinks he is the man. Now Deena and Snooki are thee alcoholics of the group. They just get drink all day and do things like get arrested for public intoxication and get in car accidents with the Italian policia.
Together these Italians cause some funny moments that make it one of the most popular shows on TV. Also I am 100% Italian so I won day hope to be just like them…maybe.. But one thing is for sure and that’s that they know how to have a good time. And watching them do what they do is almost as good as being there.
MONKS.
I have never seen Tibetan monks but when they came here I was fascinated . As they all flocked into the dining hall the first night they arrived I was behind them in line. As they wondered around the kitchen they tried to pick the food they wanted for dinner. But at every station they went to they had a look of disguised when they saw the food. I started laughing because I noticed this and didn’t blame them. Also I’m almost positive that monks are vegetarians and most of the food that night was meat. (Good job Nichols!) Most of them settled for salad.
My only other experience with the monks was the constructing of the sand mandala. I viewed the masterpiece when it was about 90% completed. It was simply amazing, the amount of time and effort those men put in is remarkable. It is unlike anything I have ever seen, the detail and colors were remarkable. Unfortunately I had class so I didn’t get to take any sand home because I had class….bummer.
Jackass
What happens when you put together a group of guys who don’t care how far you need to go to get a laugh? You get a little series called Jackass. Personally one of my favorite things I have ever watched on TV. These guys including people like Steve-o, Johnny Knoxville, Dave England, Bam Margera, Wee Man, and Preston Lacey go above and beyond the meaning of the word “Stupid”. This is a very unique idea that is unlike anything else.

The Greatest City in the World
If you haven't been to Boston you should, its is a city of history, champions, and great food. There is many things to do and the first stop should be Fanuil Hall. Fanuil Hall is a mix of stores, shops, and restaurants. My favorite part of it is the phenomenon known as Quincy Market. Quincy Market is a building that is full of about a hundred food and desert stands. Some of the best food in Boston is located there from Pizzeria Regina to Boston's Famous Clam Chowder they have it all.
Another restaurant you must go to is Dicks Last Resort. This is a very unique restaurant were the waiters are paid to be assholes to you. They are so rude but all you do is laugh. Also the make these huge white hats that they write insults on, like "I stuff my bra" or, "I'm only taking this girl I'm with out because I wanna get laid." These hats are notorious all around the Bean, and everyone who walks by you reads your hat and usually laughs at you. But there is some much more to do you can go visit the North End, Boston Harbor, Mike's Pastry's, or even go wave to the prisoners over at the Suffolk County Jail.

Snow in October....Whaaaa?
Last weekend as we all know we had a severe snow storm across western and central mass. Now the funny is that its October. Now I'm not from around here, I'm from eastern mass, but the last time I checked it did not snow this early. Some say global warming? I say mother nature but what do I know?
Anyways though it wasn't even a lot of snow this storm was a very deceiving. The immense winds and weight of the snow took down trees and power lines all around the state. Nichols had to evacuate and most people went home. I was surprised to here this news because I figured this area would be used to snow by now. but for some reason this storm just overpowered the whole area. I hope that we don't have to make up the missed days

Lockout
What happens when you mix greedy players and greedy team owners? Well you get a lockout, this result in the cancellation of games during the season. The NBA is currently in the middle of a lockout that is pissing everyone off. The season is already canceled until December, with weeks being added on every day. The funny thing is there all millionaires anyways, but everybody is so selfish now a days. Just play ball!
A lot of players have already signed contracts in European countries for this upcoming season. Steve Nash is playing in turkey this season and the quote on quote “”best player in the world” Kobe Bryant is taking his talents to Italy…… that is if the lockout goes for the whole season. Most of these foreign contracts allow players to go back to their American teams, if the lockout ends. Which I hope it does because I am a die heart Celtics fan and I need to see my Celts play or I will not be a happy camper.

The World Series
This years world series was between the St. Louis Cardinals and the Texas Rangers. Game one Texas suffered a heart breaking loss with some questionable calls late in the game. A missed sliding catch by Nelson Cruz put the Cards up 1 run in the 6th inning. Texas was not able to come back, dropping game 1 of the series. Game to was a defensive showdown that caused a low scoring game. Texas Rallied in the 9th inning lead by Elvis Andrus and Ian Kinsler.
However it was not until game 6 were thins started to get interesting. The Rangers blew various leads in the late innings to allow the cardinals to come back. The game ended up going into extra innings and in the bottom of the 10th David Freese a rookie came up and hit a walk off home run while his eyes were closed. It was all luck. In game seven Texas just couldn't catch a break and they lost the world series. #badhit

College Life
This past week here at Nichols College has been very different from my usual routine throughout High School. It is not quite what I expected. The adjustment to college life will defiantly take a few weeks if not months. Every aspect of this place is new. From the classes to the dining hall, it’s all a change. My room is one of the smallest in shammy, but it gets the job done. Anyway the first day I mainly hung out with my roommates who I had previously met at orientation. The first day was mainly getting to know people, then forgetting their names after the conversation concluded. I had my first classes. It was very similar to the first day of High School, we didn’t do much work. Just had an introduction to the course and met the kids in my class. However for every class I got massive amounts of homework. Which I think is a force for the first day. Some teachers gave me homework before I even had the class, for that they get a C’mon Son!. But I have had a lot of down time with really nothing to do so it can get pretty boring at times. A lot of times I just go out in the halls and roam around trying to find stuff to do. I have played a lot of wiffleball since I’ve been here. I don’t get much sleep though do to restless nights due to noise, homework, or just being to occupied to sleep. It’s going to take a while to adjust to the college life but I’m ready for it.
